Summer Break Camps Guelph 2017

Summer is an excellent time to meet new friends, play, learn, and make lasting memories at summer camps. I still remember my Guelph summer camp days at sports camp, play day camp, and horseback riding camp. Do you remember the summer camps that you attended as a child?

Despite the frigid winter temperatures, many summer camps are either already open for registration or will be open for registration soon. Guelph's top camps fill up quickly so decide and sign up soon to avoid disappointment.

Below we're giving you a cheat sheet to easily find the perfect summer camp for your children. We have information on all sorts of camps and while they all have a different focus - animals, art, hockey, science, martial arts, physical activity - they all guarantee a week of lasting memories!

Guelph Humane Society

Name of camp: Guelph Humane Society's Summer Critter Camp

When registration opens and closes: Registration will open on January 30th and close when it is full (end of May).

Age range for the camp: For campers entering grades 1-8.

Weeks your camp is running: July and August 2017.

Cost: Early Bird rate: $225, plus tax. Regular rate: $250, plus tax

Description: The Guelph Humane Society offers animal themed camps for kids in grades 1-8. These programs include Birthday Parties, PA Day Camps, Summer Camp and March Break Camp. Our fun and education programs include games, crafts and of course animal interactions! Register early, as our programs fill up quickly!

Bulldog Fitness Camps

Name of camp: Ministry of Education Licensed Program & Camp

When registration opens and closes: Registration Opens (Full Week): March 20th 2017

  • Part Week/By Day Opens: 1 week prior to the week interested in registering for (as it is by availability only- first come first serve)

  • Registration closes for each camp the Friday before that start (Monday)

Age range for the camp: Ages: 3-13 - With age appropriate groups. Low campers to staff ratio

Week your camp is running: 8am-5pm (with extended hours available at additional cost-must pre register for this)

Description: Bulldog Fitness provides a fun choice based camp that provides each child the opportunity to explore their own interests. From sports & games, arts & crafts to cooking & science- we have it all! Each week will have different special guests, workshops and possibly a theme chosen by our campers! We do trips to the local parks (Franchetto Park) and also every Wednesday (weather permitted) we visit The Guelph Grotto! With qualified staff and excellent ratios our camp gives your child the ultimate experience!

Skills Ontario

Name of camp: Skills Ontario Summer Camps

When registration opens and close: Registration is now open and will remain open until we reach the maximum capacity for each camp week (16 campers/camp)

Age range for the camp: 11-13 (Students going into grades, 7, 8 & 9)

Weeks your camp is running:

  • July 10-14 – All Boys’ Camp at Linamar (The Centre)
  • July 24-28 – Co-Ed Camp at Conestoga College (Guelph Campus)
  • August 14-18 – All Girls’ Camp at Linamar (The Centre)

Cost: $175/camper/week (Subsidies may be available)

Description: Skills Ontario Summer Camp is a week-long day program for kids entering grades 7-9. Through hands-on activities relevant to the skilled trades, campers develop communication, problem-solving and teamwork skills. Campers take part in hands-on counselor and industry-led workshops in the industrial, construction, motive power, services and technology sectors; they explore careers in skilled trades through interactive games, industry tours and entrepreneurship programs. Schedules vary per location based on available volunteers and programming.

Guelph Family Martial Arts

Name of camp: Guelph Family Martial Arts Summer Camp

When registration opens and closes:Registration Now Open. Registration closes Sunday July 9th, 2017

Age range for the camp: 3.5-13 years old

Weeks your camp is running:

  • Monday July 3rd-Friday July 7th
  • Monday July 10th-Friday July 14th
  • Monday July 17th-Friday July 21st
  • Monday July 24th-Friday July 28th
  • Monday July 31st- Friday August 4th
  • Monday August 7th-Friday August 11th

Cost: $199 for the Week

Description: Guelph Family Martial Arts was voted #1 Camp in Guelph and the surrounding area, our camp is designed to promote personal development and growth in a fun, safe environment. Our camps are open to members and non-members.Camp hours are from 9:00am-4:00pm, earlier drop-off and later pick-up available upon request. Sylvan Learning

Name of camp: Sylvan Learning Lego Robotics & Game Design Camp

When registration opens and closes: Opens March 1st and no official closing date

Age range for the camp: Students in Grades 1-8

Weeks your camp is running:

  • Session 1: July 10-14
  • Session 2: July 24-28
  • Session 3: Aug 14-18
  • Session 4: Aug 21-25

Cost: $225+HST

Description: Working with friends, your child will enjoy fun, hands-on projects which include building and animating Lego robots as well as animating stories and creating video games. Your child will learn basic programming by using coding blocks that integrate thousands of backgrounds, characters, props and music.

The Zone Training

Name of camp: Summer Hockey Camps at The Zone Training
